Prof. Vasudeva Rao Allu has received an M.Sc. (Mathematics) from the University of Hyderabad, a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and carried out his post-doctoral studies from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, as well as from IIT Madras (with an NBHM Fellowship). Currently, Prof. Allu is a Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, School of Basic Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar. He was a visiting research scholar at the University of Turku, Finland (2007 and 2009) with the Distinguished CIMO (Center for International Mobility) Fellowship. Prof. Allu was a visiting faculty member at Yamaguchi University, Japan, in December 2011.
The Andhra Pradesh Association of Mathematics Teachers (A.P.A.M.T.) (2002) presented Prof. Allu with the Gold Medal and Aryabhatta Award for securing the state first rank in the Andhra Pradesh Mathematical Olympiad at the M.Sc. level. He received the Best Paper Presentation Award at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Ramanujan Mathematical Society (2007). He has been selected for the International Congress of Mathematicians 2018-Open Arms Travel Grant. (2018) and the Chebyshev Grant from the International Congress of Mathematicians 2022.
Prof. Allu is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Mathematical Inequalities (since 2021). Professor Allu received the Teaching Excellence Award from IIT Bhubaneswar in 2020 and 2023. He is an elected member of the London Mathematical Society (since 2018) and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, India (since 2019).
