to advance scientific knowledge and technological innovation in fundamental and applied sciences. The School is organized into three departments: <b><a href=\"http:\/\/10.10.0.172\/sbsweb\/index.php\/physics\/\">Department of Physics<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/10.10.0.172\/sbsweb\/index.php\/chemistry\/\">Department of Chemistry<\/a><\/b>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/10.10.0.172\/sbsweb\/index.php\/mathematics\/\"><b>Department of Mathematics<\/b><\/a> and fosters interdisciplinary and collaborative research in various fields while nurturing a culture of inquiry, creativity, and scientific rigor.<\/p><p>The School&#8217;s mission is to provide world-class education to engineering undergraduates and post graduates in basic sciences, equip students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and contribute to pioneering research that benefits society and industry. The School offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs designed to produce highly skilled professionals and researchers:<\/p><ul><li><b>BTech Program in Engineering Physics<\/b><\/li><li><strong>BTech Program in Mathematics &amp; Computing<\/strong><\/li><li><b>BSc-BEd (ITEP) programs<\/b> in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics<\/li><li><b>Joint MSc-PhD programs<\/b> in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics<\/li><li><b>PhD programs<\/b> in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics<\/li><\/ul><p>Our programs are structured to provide a solid foundation in theoretical principles, complemented by practical exposure and research opportunities. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses, emphasizes seminars, projects, and internships to prepare students to take up challenges in academia, industry, and research.<\/p><p>The School proudly houses two Centers of Excellence:<\/p><p><b>1. MHRD Centre of Excellence for Novel Energy Materials (CENEMA)<\/b><\/p><p>With the goal is to advance the understanding of energy materials through Materials Genomics, the center focuses on a subset of materials for energy applications. This involves developing methods across various scales, including electronic structure, molecular dynamics, and continuum schemes, using high-performance computing (HPC) for realistic simulations.<\/p><p><b>2. K. Dash Centre of Excellence of Biosciences and Engineering &amp; Technology (SKBET)<\/b><\/p><p>Dr. SK Dash, a global pioneer in probiotics and recipient of numerous international awards, established the SK Dash Center of Excellence of Bio-Sciences and Engineering &amp; Technology (SKBET) at IIT Bhubaneswar. The center focuses on advancing research in bio-molecular and food technology, aiming to build capacity in these fields.
